| There are many things that I hold dear to me. My wife, my Pastors, my
local church, and my family are just a few.
There is someone that I hold to closer than any of the above. He is Jesus
Christ (the Anointed One). This person took my life of poverty and despair
and turned it around into a life of blessing and prosperity.
I used to live in sub-poverty level circumstances, wear clothes that had
holes in them, and drive a rusted out oil eating car. My life prior to Jesus
was not great. I watched people all around me get caught up in alcoholism,
drugs, and promiscuity. It was a vicious cycle where I lived. I decided that
I wanted no part of it. There was just one problem, I didn't know how to
get out.
I tried everything my limited thinking could come up with. The harder I worked
the more I would be frivolous with my money. The more sociable I was the
harder it was to break free.
I finally decided to give up and accept the circumstances that had been dealt
to me. Until, I met a gentleman named Scott Strickland. ( Scott if you ever
read this, thank you for sowing the seeds that got and kept me in the kingdom.)
He introduced me to Jesus.
I started by making one right decision. This turned out to be the best decision
I ever made. Jesus took my life and gave me direction. I still lived in the
same circumstance but now I have hope.
As the next few years progressed I began to prosper and grow closer to God.
Things began to turn around in my life. Then it happened, the church I was
going to had a split and I got lost in the shuffle because I was still young.
To my disgrace I fell away but, God still had other plans in mind.
In December of 1995 I wandered into a church in Clarksville, Tennessee called
Faith Outreach. It was unlike any other church I had gone to. It wasn't religious
but it did believe in excellence. I was reintroduced to Jesus and found out
that He wanted me to have a victorious life. I found out I was made to win
and not to sin. Jesus still cared about me. The Pastors took me in and was
very patient with me. I wasn't exactly ministry material. They kept working
on me and now I know that all things are possible to him that believes.
The best thing about my church is that is full of people like me. God did
the same things in their lives and they are a living testimony of the miracle
working power of God.

Dear Jesus, I'm a sinner and I know that I have done wrong things. I believe
that you can change me and my life into something far better than I am dealing
with. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that God raised You
from the dead. You died for me. Thank you Jesus for being there for me and
accepting me for who I am. Jesus I also receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit
as an assurance of the things you promised to give me till you come back.
Fill me now with your Holy Spirit.
